Wooden Playhouse or a Plastic Playhouse?

Children often don't enjoy plastic playhouses as much as they seem more comparable to a 'toy' than a real little house of their own.
Plastic playhouses generally come prepackaged as several large pieces that need slotting together, a light plastic playhouse can never be as sturdy as a solid as a wooden one and wont make the delightful garden feature and the same impact in your garden that a wooden wendy house would. A wooden playhouse is hand made by craftsmen and a very special attractive item in it's own right.
Wooden playhouses tend to cost around ten percent more than plastic playhouses, however they do tend to be a much larger to make up for the additional cost, giving equal or even better value for your money. Wooden playhouses are practical and more durable than plastic ones, as plastic playhouses fade and deteriorate over time, whilst wooden ones may be treated with wood stain, meaning that they last for years and years.
Let's be honest here, wooden playhouses are fine-looking, as they look more traditional, and when painted beautifully, can look more like a home in the garden.

Playhouse Sizes
Have you consider the size of the playhouse you would like? Obviously the usable space in your garden is a significant factor when deciding on the size of your playhouse, as is the number of children you are catering for.
Types of Playhouse
The first type is a traditional wooden playhouse which sits on the ground. These are either single storey playhouses or double storey playhouses, which generally have an internal ladder or stairs to access the top floor. The second type is the tower playhouse, and are supported by wooden legs. Tower playhouses usually have a ladder.
Need a Base for a Wooden Playhouse?
You do need some variety of solid base for a children's playhouse. Whilst most children's playhouses come with an internal floor, you'll still need to provide a level base for it, otherwise the walls of the playhouse might not align correctly.
The easiest solid base to furnish is concrete paving slabs, as six or eight large slabs can be enough to provide a big enough playhouse base, are relatively cheap, and quite straightforward to position.
Children's Playhouse Safety
Obviously you need to consider safety aspects when choosing a children's playhouse. Any outdoor toy sold in the UK, in addition to as the rest of Europe, should conform to the relevant safety standard.
There are several safety aspects you should insist on when buying a children's playhouse:
The Stringent European Standards for Outdoor Playground Equipment EN1176-EN1177 certificate
Plastic/styrene windows, as glass can be dangerous
The wood should be planed so it's smooth to touch to prevent splintering
Other options may include:
Slate roof
Underfloor Heating
Made to measure curtains and blinds!
Children's Playhouse Prices
There's a very wide variety of styles, sizes and price range when it comes to buying playhouses. Make certain to choose a reputable company to purchase from as your child's safety is priceless.

What is a Better Option - Wooden Or Stainless Steel Balustrading?

A baluster is a moulded shaft, square or of lathe-turned form, in stone or wood, and at times in metal, standing on a unifying footing and supporting the coping of a stockade or the handrail (also known as a banister) of a staircase. Reproduced in this way, they form a balustrade. Individually, a baluster shaft may explain the turned form, taken by a brass or silver candlestick, an erect furniture support, or the stem of a brass chandelier.A baluster is a moulded shaft, square or of lathe-turned form, in stone or wood, and at times in metal, standing on a unifying footing and supporting the coping of a stockade or the handrail (also known as a banister) of a staircase. Reproduced in this way, they form a balustrade. Individually, a baluster shaft may explain the turned form, taken by a brass or silver candlestick, an erect furniture support, or the stem of a brass chandelier.

Wood is the most flexible material used to make turned and simple horizontal balustrades. Apart from conventional, you can give a modern look through the wooden balustrades. Timber is a popular material for designing staircases and balustrades. Wooden balustrades can be skilfully crafted to balance your existing staircase. These are unique in both antique and modern styles. Besides the safety features, a wooden balustrade adds style and a classic look to your home.

The wooden balustrades are also designed delightfully. Wide varieties of colours are available in wooden balustrades, which make it easier for the clients to select from, according to their own choice or the one which suits the building.

The use of wood has reduced in manufacturing of balustrades and handrails. People have become aware about saving the environment, and therefore, the use of wood is frowned upon by some people.

Stainless steel balusters are uprights, constructed of iron and used to support railings, such as the rail on a banister. While balusters can be composed of other materials such as wood or concrete, stainless steel is often a great way to add a decorative touch, while retaining the vigour and support required to support the railing. Stainless steel balusters may be used in houses or for exterior areas.

One of the more widespread applications of stainless steel balusters has to do with the balconies. A series of thin stainless steel balusters can elegantly support a handrail as well as a bottom rail that outlines the edge of the balcony. The presence of these stainless steel balusters, as the connection between the two balcony rails, ensures that the balcony is safe, and it is possible to enjoy the exterior space without fear of falling off the balcony.

Stainless steel balusters are a beautiful alternative to wooden balusters or spindles for the design of a stairway. Because the stainless steel balusters can be very plain or be moulded to curve or can have complex designs, the look is often outstanding and adds one more layer of texture to the stair area. The stainless steel balusters are also strong and are likely to need less maintenance than their wooden baluster.

Along with a gorgeous appearance and practical applications, stainless-steel balusters are often a cost-effective way of creating a balustrade for use in outside or inside areas. In most cases, the stainless steel construction will cost much less than similar wood construction; it requires less maintenance over the years and is comparatively easy to replace in the event that one or more of the stainless steel balusters require replacing.
